Voice interface

Hey Hollow

Status: Live

A listen-and-speak voice interface for Hollow, built on Amazon Nova 2 Sonic with no stored credentials anywhere.

Hey Hollow lets you talk to Hollow instead of typing: the same shared agent kernel, the same tools and memory, just spoken. It reads your workspace aloud today, with a curated set of confirmed write actions rolling out behind a safety-first switch.

Listen

Speech-to-speech, not speech-to-text bolted on

Hey Hollow runs on Amazon Nova 2 Sonic, a speech-to-speech model that listens, reasons, and speaks in one model call rather than chaining separate transcription and text-to-speech steps, reached through a small relay so your browser never talks to AWS directly.

  • Listening, reasoning, and speaking happen in one model call
  • A GCP relay federates credentials; no static AWS keys are ever stored
  • Native barge-in: real speech genuinely interrupts generation

Ask

Reads your workspace, on request

By default, Hey Hollow is read-only: it can read tasks, notes, calendar, budgets, files, contacts, workbooks, slides, diagrams, Cookbook, and Cascade aloud, through the same policy-gated tools the text assistant uses, so it can never see more than you could see yourself.

  • Reads across nearly every app in Hollow, through the same tool policy as text chat
  • Sensitive domains, like Budgets and Contacts, get a safe spoken summary with full detail shown on screen instead
  • Every voice exchange is saved into the same conversation history as typed chat

Act

Write actions, rolling out behind a safety switch

A curated set of write actions, creating a calendar event, a task, a contact, or a note, and toggling a bill as paid, is built and tested to go through a two-step propose-then-confirm flow with a card shown on screen, so nothing gets written from a misheard word. It is rolling out behind a safety-first switch rather than on by default.

  • A curated, deliberately small set of voice-write actions
  • Every write is proposed, confirmed out loud, then shown on screen
  • A kill switch turns voice off instantly, no redeploy needed

  • Propose, then confirm
  • Calendar events, tasks, contacts, notes
  • Bill-paid toggle
