Co-op farming

Furrow

Status: In development

A cosy co-op farm for one to four players, starring cats who walk upright to work and drop to all fours to run.

Furrow pairs Stardew Valley-style farm life with Castle Crashers-style readable co-op chaos. Solo play already covers farming, foraging, animals, fishing, mining, cooking, crafting, and a village with an original mystery; online co-op for up to four players is being built on top.

Co-op farming

The solo game, today

A complete farm, already playable

Phase 1, the offline solo game, is essentially complete: a full farming loop, onboarding, and real code, not just design docs, for the valley, the town, and its story. Farming, foraging, and animal care are unified into one connected, walkable farmstead.

  • Cooking and crafting reached in-world, at the stove or bench, no separate menus
  • A real HP, dazed, and ally-revive combat loop already exists
  • Bipedal by default; drop to all fours to sprint, at the cost of tool use
Phase 1What’s real today
  • Farming, foraging, animals
  • Fishing and mining
  • Cooking and crafting
  • A village with a story

Building the co-op

A shared valley for up to four

A dedicated, authoritative server sits on top of local play, so no single player hosts and no one’s connection decides whether the session survives. Seven systems already resolve server-side, proven live with four players sharing one valley.

  • Farming, foraging, animals, trees, mining, fishing, and combat run server-side
  • Per-player XP and loot are credited individually, even under simultaneous actions
  • Crafting, cooking, and tools are not yet wired to the server
Phase 2Server-side today
  • Farming, foraging, animals
  • Trees and mining
  • Fishing and combat
  • Four concurrent players proven

The valley

Hearthollow village and its mystery

Hearthollow village is built out with real content: thirteen named villagers with weekly schedules and bonds, twelve seasonal festivals with real contests, and an original mystery woven through villager dialogue.

  • Thirteen villagers, each with a weekly schedule and relationship track
  • Twelve festivals, three per season, each with its own contest
  • A running valley mystery told through dialogue, not a codex dump
WorldBrindlemere Valley
  • 13 named villagers
  • 12 seasonal festivals
  • Schedules, bonds, gifts
  • An original valley mystery
